How much time do you, as a batter, have before you need to decide to swing the bat? At what point between the plate and the pitcher’s mound can you tell what kind of pitch it is? At what point do you need to start your swing to be able to even contact the ball? If you’ve ever played baseball before, you know that this timing is within a fraction of a second.
